2009 Championship Year

Year End Rating Appeal’s Process
 


 

Only a player may appeal his/her 2008 Year End Rating.  To file an appeal, you must choose the “Appeal Rating” link at the bottom of this page.  You will be prompted to enter your USTA # and then your zip code.  You will be notified immediately as to whether your appeal is granted or denied.
 

Please note that an appeal by a player with a Benchmark (B) rating will automatically be denied.  A player generates a Benchmark rating by participating in an Adult and/or Senior State, Sectional or National Championship.
 

NOTE: 

·         For the 2009 Championships Year:

·         2006, 2007, 2008 NTRP Computer Ratings are valid for adults age 59 and under.

·         2007 and 2008 NTRP Computer Ratings are valid for seniors age 60 and over.   

·         An individual must play at their published rating or higher.

 

Reasons an appeal may be granted:

 

YEAR-END APPEALS

·         All players, except benchmark players, whose rating is within .05 above or below NTRP level, will be granted.

·         All players, except benchmark players, who will be 60 years of age or older during the league year and whose rating is within .10 above or below will be granted an appeal.

·         Year old computer rating that falls within .10 above IF the next highest approved NTRP level was not available during the previous Championship Year.
 

MIXED EXCLUSIVE APPEAL

·         All of the Year-End Appeals and . . .

·         New player (self-rated) with 4 or fewer dynamic ratings may be granted an appeal if it falls within .20 above the level.

 

MEDICAL APPEAL

·         Permanent disabling injury or illnesses occurring after year-end ratings were achieved (with supporting documentation.)

 

ELECTRONIC SELF-RATE ON TENNISLINK

·         Self-ratings can be automatically appealed UP to a higher level.

·         Self-ratings can only be requested to be appealed DOWN to a lower level during the self-rate process, or when attempting to register for a team with a lower NTRP rating than their assigned self-rate.
 

Click on the “Appeal Rating” link below, enter your USTA # and you will see your 2008 Year End Rating.  Next to your rating you will be provided with another “Appeal Rating” link next.  Click on this, enter your zip code and the system will give you an immediate decision based on the “Reasons an appeal may be granted” above.
