Attention Tournament Directors . . .

1-Day Adult Tournaments
for Rankings Approved!

Sanctioning is now available for 2008 Adult/Senior Age & NTRP Division 1-Day Tournaments. This offer is available for current tournament directors, CTA’s, member organizations and any interested in promoting adult tournament play in Georgia in a quick, 1-day format. The sanction fee for the 1-Day tournament has been waived!

Why YOU should consider the 1-Day tournament format at your facility.

  • Limited Time Commitment – Multiple matches in a short time span
  • Non-Elimination – Guarantees same number of matches for all participants
  • Low Cost – Short time-frame equals lower entry fees, no hotel
  • Club Friendly – Short, predictable time-frame maximizes courts during slow periods
  • Grows Tennis – Provides play opportunities for the population segment that cannot commit to an entire weekend or a season-long league

Acceptable scoring formats for 1-day tournaments.

1)   Regular two out of three set matches.

2)   Two out of three set matches with a tie-breaker in lieu of the third set.

3)   8-game pro-sets.

4)   Two- out of three-“mini-sets” to 4 games, with a tiebreak for the third set. Mini-sets are first to 4, win by 2. Tie-break is played at 4-4 in each set. Regular or no-ad scoring may be used.

You must win at least one match to acquire points for where you finish in a round robin. This does not include participation points.
